I specialize in using personality psychology to create immersive visual concept designs and authentic character arcs. I also uses my expertise to coach artists who feel stuck in their personal and professional process, guiding her mentees through narrative analysis, practical research methodology, and concept development.
When not teaching or writing, you can find me developing original story pitches with her husband Tong Bui, or brainstorming new books and design projects with my friends and collaborators.

Prep for CTN-X

Time is flying and I've been working on some new portfolio pages, I'll be going through and editing them to polish them up as well as adding some more but I figured I'd post some of the progress in the meantime :) I didn't make the finals of the Nickelodeon internship but some amazing artists did so I'll keep working and pushing myself to improve :) I will have a table at CTN-X if anyone is coming to that: XT-34 and I'll be sharing with my awesome friend Shaun Bryant (http://art-bomb.com/) If you want to stop by and say hello.

Nickelodeon Artist Program

Made it to the semi-finals and had a phone interview this week! :) I was a little nervous ^_^ but I'm crossing my fingers that I make it to the finals. Either way, it's awesome to be a part of this experience of applying and going through the process. I really love Nickelodeon and it would be such an amazing opportunity to work at the studio and learn from such awesome people. It'll be a little while before I find out whether or not I'm moving forward but there is plenty of stuff to distract me in the meantime. Yeah, after I got back from Korea I noticed that I just had tons of old art up here so I put a bunch in storage so I could sortof start over. The only other place I post is here: [link] but it's mostly similar stuff + some behind the scenes of the Alice in Space designs...
